Alice S. Tang, PhD, is a bioengineer, data and machine learning scientist, and trainee at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Alice recently completed her doctoral thesis in the UCSF-UC Berkeley Graduate Program in Bioengineering under the mentorship of Dr. Marina Sirota at the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute. Her work has been funded by a National Institute on Aging F30 award and a UCSF Discovery Fellowship, and she has garnered recognition by winning first place for the AMIA Edward H. Shortliffe Doctoral Dissertation Award.
Her research includes the development of computational methods to yield insights into diseases such as neurodegeneration, cerebrovascular disease, and women’s health, resulting in over 20 co-authored publications. She has also worked with Genentech as an intern and contractor to support clinical development of novel therapeutics via approaches leveraging real-world data.
