PhD Student
University of Florida
I, Raed Alshammari, am currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at the University of Florida (UF), College of Pharmacy. My research focuses on Epigenome-Wide Association Studies (EWAS), with an emphasis on DNA methylation in Carfilzomib-Related Cardiovascular Adverse Events (CVAEs) in Multiple Myeloma. This work builds on my M.Sc. research at UF, where I investigated DNA methylation patterns in Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) using an EWAS approach.
My academic journey began at the University of Hail in Saudi Arabia, where I earned my Pharm.D. After graduation, I joined the same university as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, contributing to both education and research. To further specialize, I pursued an M.Sc. at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research, applying EWAS methodologies to study epigenetic modifications.
These experiences have shaped my research focus on epigenetics, with implications for precision medicine.
