Ryan has spent 16 years in Quantitative Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics and currently leads a talented group of scientists covering the infectious diseases and vaccine therapeutic areas. Ryan holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Rice University. His contributions and leadership have impacted drug development decisions from translational models in discovery through dose recommendation and labeling in late-stage development. His experience has spanned multiple therapeutic areas including cardiometabolic, women’s health, oncology, infectious disease, and vaccines. He is passionate about mentoring and teaching quantitative and leadership skillsets both within Merck and in the wider scientific community. In addition, Ryan holds an adjunct associate professor position at Purdue University in the department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy where he lectures on pharmacokinetics and pharmacometrics.
