Dr. Hassan is a Director of Clinical Pharmacology at Regeneron and an Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMSOP). Prior to joining Regeneron, he served as a Primary Reviewer at the FDA, where he reviewed IND and NDA applications, served as a Co-Principal Investigator on a regulatory research grant, and Co-Founded and Co-Chaired a Clinical Trial Designs Scientific Interest Group. Before joining the FDA, he was an Assistant Professor at UMSOP where he served as a Director of the Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics Lab, an Executive UMSOP Council member, a Chair of the Pharm D Admission Committee, and as a Co-Principal Investigator on four federal U01 grants. He led several teams of interdisciplinary scientists, supervised more than 30 individuals and served on PhD thesis committees of 15 students. Dr. Hassan holds master’s and doctorate degrees from UMSOP, and a Pharmacy degree from Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt. He is also a licensed pharmacist in Maryland. Dr. Hassan has been a dedicated member of ASCPT since 2016. He served as a Vice Chair/Chair/Past Chair of the Translational and Precision Medicine (TPM) Network, Vice Chair/Chair/Past Chair of the Drug Utilization and Outcomes (DUO) Community, Steering Committee Member of the Quantitative Pharmacology (QP), and Development, Regulatory and Outcomes (DRO) networks, Member of the Scientific Program, Nominating, Infectious Diseases, and Biologics committees, Member of the Awards Nomination Task Force, and Co-Chair of the QP Hot Topics Initiative. in addition to serving on several leadership positions in ACCP and AAPS. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Hassan received several awards from the FDA, AAPS, UMB and the Egyptian governmnet, and he was featured in the CPT journal, Bioanalysis Journal and AAPS News magazine.
