Voices for ALS
Mira Klngenberg BSN, RN (retired) is a wife, mother, grandma and ALS advocate. Her son, Matt Klingenberg, was diagnosed with ALS in 2018 at age 32. Matt was involved in a clinical trial and received the treatment through expanded access twice after the trial ended. He is involved in a second expanded access treatment through NIH via Act for ALS funding. She will bring personal family experience to the discussion of patients’ needs and regulatory considerations.
Ms. Klingenberg was involved in advocating for the Act for ALS and has regulator contact with legislators advocating for issues important to ALS.
Ms. Klingenberg’s career was in psychiatric nursing, regularly using subjective tools for assessment and evaluation. She also worked in process management and regulatory standards.
