Katie Hess, MS, is a Systems Architect at UCHealth with a background in clinical laboratory science and multiple Epic software certifications. With ten years in the information technology field, Katie combines her clinical expertise with technical innovation to enhance healthcare systems.
Starting her career in the clinical lab, Katie worked in several areas including microbiology, hematology, blood bank and chemistry, utilizing the Epic software system she would later help to architect. Now working in IT, her primary focus at UCHealth is on pharmacogenomics, where she works to integrate genetic test results into electronic health records, ensuring that genetic insights lead to actionable, personalized treatment decisions.
Katie is passionate about leveraging technology to advance precision medicine, streamline healthcare workflows, and improve patient outcomes through data-driven solutions.
