PhD Candidate
University of Florida
Dr. Cameron D. Thomas, PharmD, is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. His research focuses on cardiovascular pharmacogenomics, with a particular emphasis on developing tools for individualizing pharmacotherapy following percutaneous coronary intervention and elucidating the impact of patient factors on treatment outcomes.
Dr. Thomas earned his PharmD from the University of Florida, followed by a PGY-1 clinical pharmacy residency at UF Health Jacksonville. He then completed a PGY-2 residency in clinical pharmacogenetics at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, further honing his expertise in personalized medicine.
His work has resulted in several original research publications in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his findings at numerous national scientific meetings. Dr. Thomas's research aims to bridge the gap between pharmacogenomic discoveries and their clinical application, potentially improving patient care in cardiovascular medicine.
As an emerging researcher in the field of clinical pharmacology, Dr. Thomas is committed to advancing the science of personalized medicine and contributing to the development of more effective, tailored therapeutic strategies for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
