PhD Student
The University of Manchester, United Kingdom
Shawn Pei Feng Tan obtained his PhD from the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research at the University of Manchester in 2024, where he was supervised by Prof. Aleksandra Galetin, Dr Daniel Scotcher and Prof. Amin Rostami-Hodjegan. His PhD focused on understanding the changes to organic anion transporter 1/3 activity in the kidney during drug-drug interactions and chronic kidney disease by combining in vitro-to-in vivo extrapolation techniques with endogenous-biomarker informed PBPK modelling. He has several first author publications and was recently awarded the Hartmut Derendorf Young Scientist Award during the Marbach Castle DDI Workshop. He also received top poster awards from ISSX and ASCPT, and is a steering committee member of the ISSX transporter focus group. Currently he is a scientist at the Experimental Drug Discovery Centre in Singapore where he works on PBPK modelling and DMPK-related projects.
