Paulette Magnas is a Ph.D. candidate in Pharmacology at Paris Cité Univeristy (France), and is involved in research at the UMR-S1343 GEME laboratory (Cochin Hospital, Paris, France). With a background in drug development and clinical research, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from Paris Cité University and a Master's degree in Development of Drugs and Health Products from Paris Saclay Univsersity (France). Her work focuses on the pharmacokinetics of CFTR modulators in adult cystic fibrosis patients, during pregnancy and transplacental passage, with an interest in predicting drug behavior and understanding its impact on therapeutic outcomes.
Through her academic work and practical experience, she has developed a particular interest in population pharmacokinetic modeling and physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling, exploring how these techniques can help predict drug behavior across diverse populations, particularly sensitive populations, and improve therapeutic outcomes.
In addition to her research, she has gained hands-on experience working within investigation centers, directly with patients enrolled in Phase II and III clinical trials for rare genetic diseases, such as achondroplasia and fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. This experience has provided her with valuable insight into protocol implementation, regulatory compliance, patient monitoring, and the challenges of developing treatments for rare diseases.
Her work is driven by a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific rigor, and patient-centered research, with a particular focus on drug development in the rare disease field. She is excited to continue refining her skills, expanding her expertise and to contribut to innovative solutions in pharmacokinetics and drug development, to support advancements that benefit both scientific progress and patient care.
