Peter Dogterom has been working in the area of clinical pharmacology for more than 30 years. After completion of his Ph.D (in vitro toxicology) at Leiden University, The Netherlands he had a 3 years PostDoc position at the ETH/Institute of Toxicology of Zürich, Switzerland.
In 1992 he started his clinical pharmacology career at a phase I unit in the Netherland, having both scientific and operational responsibilities. He joined the innovative pharmaceutical industry in 1999 at Organon, The Netherlands where he was involved in all kinds of clinical pharmacology studies in the field of CNS (First-in-human, drug-drug-interactions, food-effect, continuous CSF sampling studies and other biomarker studies) conducted by CRO’s in EU and USA. Organon was taken over by the US company Schering Plough which two years later was taken over by the US company Merck&Co/MSD. That extended a lot to his international clinical pharmacology career and gave insight in the world of “big pharma”. During these periods, he had different roles within the field of clinical pharmacology. Since 2014 he is Senior Director Clinical Pharmacology at QPS, a global leader in clinical pharmacology studies. His main role is consulting (potential) clients and internal teams on all aspects of clinical pharmacology.
