Prof. Luca Marchetti is a consultant at the Fondazione The Microsoft Research – University of Trento Centre for Computational and Systems Biology (COSBI), where he provides scientific advice for the group Intelligent Systems for Computational Biology. He is also an Associate Professor and the Head of the Computational Modeling Laboratory at the Department of Cellular, Computational, and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) of the University of Trento. He serves as a Ph.D. Committee Member of the Doctoral Program in Biomolecular Sciences, Department CIBIO, University of Trento and Associate Editor of the journals Heliyon, section Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences, section Molecular Diagnostics and Therapeutics, and Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, section Optimization. With extensive experience as a group leader, Prof. Marchetti has led research projects in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies, universities, and research centers, primarily focusing on Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) and Physiologically-based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and their integration with Artificial Intelligence techniques. He has co-authored a textbook on mathematical modeling for computational systems biology and published over 60 scientific papers in international journals, books, and conference proceedings. Some of his publications won international prizes for their level of contribution. He is/has been a co-advisor of several stage/bachelor/master thesis and PhD students.
