John Tumberger is a second-year medical student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and a research assistant working with Dr. Stephani Stancil at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. John completed a Bachelor’s degree in Human Health Biology and a Minor in Leadership from Kansas State University in 2022. His scholarly endeavors include multiple publications and presentations focusing on pediatric pharmacology and neuroimaging biomarkers, particularly in studying the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic effects of Naltrexone and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors in adolescents. Beyond his academic and research commitments, he actively engages in community service through student run free clinic initiatives in Kansas City. John’s leadership roles include serving as Executive Director for a Pediatric Free Medical Clinic for uninsured adolescents. His professional pursuits focus on integrating clinical research with innovative therapeutic strategies for improving pediatric patient outcomes.
