Dr. Benjamin Duong, PharmD, is currently the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Service Manager under Nemours Precision Medicine Program at Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE. He earned his PharmD from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, completed a PGY1 Hospital Pharmacy with Memorial Hospital Miramar in Miramar, Florida, and his PGY2 Clinical Pharmacogenomics residency at the University of Florida. He currently leads the implementation of pharmacogenomics across Nemours Children's Health, a multistate institution with hospitals and clinics in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Dr. Duong implemented the Nemours Clinical Pharmacogenomics Service which includes developing an in-house pharmacogenomic panel with the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory, integrating pharmacogenetic clinical decision support into the electronic medical records, providing clinical recommendations, and educating patients and health care professionals regarding pharmacogenomics. He has published over a dozen papers in pharmacogenomics, with a focus on implementation practices. He collaborates with the NIH-funded Implementing Genomics in Practice (IGNITE) Network and the Pharmacogenomics Global Research Network (PGRN). He is the clinical pharmacogenetics specialist for the NIH-funded IGNITE Network's A Depression and Opioid Pragmatic Trial in Pharmacogenetics (ADOPT-PGX) in which he enrolled pediatric patients requiring antidepressants for depression.
