Curing HIV: Opportunities for Drug Discovery and Development
Drug development for HIV cure presents unique challenges, including an incomplete understanding of mechanisms driving viral persistence despite effective antiretroviral treatment and the absence of clear target clinical biomarkers. Our group leverages clinical pharmacology approaches to understand the complex action of antiviral and immunomodulatory agents to clear viral reservoirs and bolster host anti-HIV activity. This work builds foundational knowledge essential for developing functional HIV cure approaches.
